DPS
This is my final double page spread. Likewise with my front cover and contents pages I have kept the colour scheme consistent and I have used an image of my cover star. I am also pleased with the amount of detail I have put into the journalism because I feel this creates a more professional and entertaining interview for the audience.
Contents page
This is my final contents page, I am pleased with the appearance of my contents page as I think it resembles the appearance of an actual contents page in a pop music magazine. I have used the same colour scheme throughout to ensure that it is consistent and I have also included a few images to enhance the overall appearance.
Front cover of magazine
This is my final front cover, overall I am very pleased with the appearance of my cover as I think that it reflects my chosen genre of pop very well. I have used bright eye-catching colours which I believe will catch the attention of the audience whilst still complementing the appearance of the cover itself. I am also very pleased with the image of my model who I think looks like a pop music artist and makes the magazine look professional.

Double Page Spread Interview - process of construction
Below is the image of the early construction of the double page spread of my magazine
The above image displays the early construction of my double page spread. As seen I have included a pull quote and an image of my cover star but I am not sure about the exact placement of the image or the pull quote as of now. I am yet to decide where to place the image and the pull quote.
The above image is the final construction of my double page spread. As seen I have included an image of my cover star and the pull quote underneath the image. I have also included page numbers at the bottom of the page to also create a more professional appearance.

Contents page - process of construction
Below is the early construction of the contents page for my magazine
As you can see in the above image I have already started to include some information on the page and have somewhat of a structured layout through the use of headers to divide information that is yet to be included on the page into sections.
In the above image I have further developed my contents page and created two pages instead of one page as seen in the previous image. This is because I felt that I needed more space in order to incorporate a substantial amount of content and to also make sure that by including this amount of information I would prevent the contents from looking cluttered by having it spread across two pages.
The above image is the final construction of my contents page. As seen all the content is divided with headers into sections and the colour scheme is consistent. I am pleased with the overall appearance of my contents page because I think the layout is quite organised which makes the appearance look professional.

Front cover - construction process
The above image displays the early construction of the front cover of my magazine.
This is the early stages of the construction for the front cover of my pop music magazine. As you can see the text is quite big and for this reason makes my cover star appear to look quite small which I plan to change. In addition to this I am planning to change the placement of my barcode and the size of the barcode making it smaller and moving it to the bottom left corner of the page instead of the right. I am also dissatisfied with my masthead at this point in time because it looks amateur.
The above image displays further construction for the front cover of my magazine.
This is the further improved version of the front cover for my magazine. As you can see I have moved the barcode to the left corner at the bottom of the page and decreased its size. I have also made the image of my cover star a bit larger so that she can been seen more. Lastly I have changed my masthead which I think looks reasonably better than my previous one.
The above image displays the final stages of construction for the front cover of my magazine.
Due to the feedback that I received on the masthead of my magazine I decided to change it because the style of font in which I chose for the masthead previously didn't suit the appearance of my magazine so I decided to change the masthead and make it a more modern style of font. I also increased the size of the image of my cover star so that she would be noticeable to the audience.

Photography set and equipment images
The following are images that I have taken of the photography set in my photo shoot. I carried out my photo shoot on Thursday 14th November. The image above displays a light reflector which is used to reflect the light on my model.
The image above displays the soft box which was also used on the photography set. The soft box is used to diffuse or soften the light which can be used to create different lighting effects on my model.
The image above displays the entire photography set. I have used a white backdrop for my magazine as the genre of my music magazine is pop and therefore I wanted to use a clear background instead of a black backdrop. This is because I believe that my model will stand out more on a white backdrop and it compliments the pop genre more than a black backdrop would. .

Researched Poses
Before my photo shoot I researched poses that my models
could do for my photos shoot. I mainly researched musicians in the pop genre as
this is the genre my music magazine is based upon. I carried out this research
because I wanted to be familiar with the way music artists presented themselves
on the front cover and inside magazines and how this is portrayed towards the
audience. I also carried out this
research as it would be beneficial to me when carrying out my photo shoot and
helpful for me when directing my models on how to pose for my magazine.

Adobe Illustrator workshop
Adobe Illustrator: Lesson Workshop
- I learnt how to use the art board tool which I used to resize the page and which I also learnt could also be used to create multiple canvases which is helpful because it means that you can display a range of different ideas.
- I learnt how to use the gradient tool which I used for the text "hello". With this tool I experimented with different colours such as pink, purple, grey and blue. I also was able to experiment with the intensity of these colours.
- I also learnt how to create outlines on the text which was very useful because it allowed me to extend different points of the letters and this is what I have done with both texts. This tool also allowed me to move the text as individual letters.
- I also learnt how to use the 3D effect tool which again I have used for both texts displayed above.

feedback recieved for magazine proposal
Feedback received from music magazine proposal
I received feedback from my media teacher on my magazine proposal. My teacher asked me whether I intended for my magazine to attract male readers and if I wanted to attract male readers to my magazine what would I do in order to achieve this. From the case studies I carried out into pop magazines I noticed that their target audience consisted mostly of females and only a small percentage of the pop magazines I researched had male readers . I intend for the target audience of my magazine to be mainly female, based on the research I have carried out as I feel this is an appropriate audience for a pop magazine.
My teacher also questioned the age of my target audience of 12 -16 year olds which she considered to be quite young. However I believe that the pop genre appeals to young and teenage girls and this is why I have chosen my target audience to begin from such a young age and what also reinforced my decision to choose such a young age for my target audience was because of the research I carried out in my cases studies and media kits. This revealed to me that magazines such as Top of the Pops and We Love Pop have a very young target audience.
